Events are seeded based on individual school swimming carnival results.
This is DAY 1 of the Swimming Championships and results will be combined with DAY 2 to determine our HRIS Swimming Team to compete at the NSWCIS Swimming Championships.
HRIS Team selection:
- 3 fastest qualifiers over both days for 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12-13 years 50m Freestyle.
- 3 fastest qualifiers over both days for 8-10, 11 Years and 12-13 Years 50m Breaststroke, 50m
Backstroke and 50m Butterfly.
- 3 fastest qualifiers over both days combined across all ages for the OPEN 100m Freestyle.
- 3 fastest qualifiers over both days for the 8-10 and 11-13 years 4 x 50m Freestyle Relay.
- Multi Class 50m Freestyle, Breaststroke, Backstroke and Butterfly.
- Junior and Senior 200 IM will not be swum at the HRIS and CIS Carnivals but conducted as an
Additional Event Nomination for PSSA. The HRIS Recorder and Convener will submit times for those eligible for selection and will notify any student selected for the event.
Students and Parents are strongly encouraged to remain for the presentations which will quickly follow our last event of the day.
UNIFORM:
Caps – competitors MUST wear a school-issued swimming cap. No correct swimming cap will result in No race.
Attire – Racing swimwear MUST be worn by all competitors or risk being disqualified, eg. no boardies and no bikinis.
- Males are limited to ONE suit that covers at most the area between hips to knees (may not extend above the waist or below the knees).
- Females are limited to ONE suit that is “open back” and “open shoulder” and may not extend below the knees.
SCORING:
DIV 1 – 1st place = 18 points; 2nd place = 17 points; 3rd place = 16 points; ….. through to 17th place = 2 points; 18th place = 1 point
DIV 2 – 1st place = 22 points; 2nd place = 21 points; 3rd place = 20 points; ….. through to 21st place = 2 points; 22nd place = 1 point
